Edimax Launches New Wi-Fi 6 Gig+ Router Powered by Intel® Technology

Edimax Technology, a leading networking solutions provider, today announces a Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) Router, BR-6473AX, which will be launched this year and is being showcased at Computex 2019. 

Edimax has been focused on designing next-generation Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) networking solutions to deliver the computing power needed to handle multiple devices simultaneously and ensure consistent connections for all of them in today’s connected homes. The BR-6743AX is one of the industry’s first mainstream 2x2 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) routers. It features 160MHz bandwidth for Gig+ capability and 1024-QAM for faster Gigabit Wi-Fi speeds of up to 3000Mbps, as well as OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology to deliver fast, strong and consistent Wi-Fi. Equipped with the Intel® Home Wi-Fi Chipset WAV654, the BR-6473AX provides consistent connections even when multiple compatible devices are connected and transmitting data simultaneously, such as IoT devices, or when transferring data via the USB port. With support for 160MHz channel bandwidth, PCs with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) technology will be able to deliver improved streaming and gigabit-speed wireless download experiences when connected to the BR-6473AX. In fact, the BR-6473AX can also enable gigabit Wi-Fi speeds for many PC clients already equipped with Intel® Wireless-AC 9260 or 9560 solutions that also support 160MHz channels.
