EDIMAX and the Taipei Government works together to initiate a part of the Smart Taipei project through the implementation of specially designed KIOSKs by EDIMAX.

EDIMAX announces the cooperation with the Taipei City Government in Taiwan. Through a press conference held at the Taipei Government Hall, the Smart Taipei project initiates the implementation of EDIMAX KIOSKs throughout parts of the Xinyi District area, an area that is considered the commercial hub of Taipei and is home to the likes of the world renowned Taipei 101 skyscraper and other renowned landmarks. The EDIMAX KIOSK combines multi-cloud service features such as the EdiGreen AirBox sensor, cloud platform, Enterprise Grade 802.11ax high-speed Wi-Fi internet system, OOH outdoor multi-media display and much more. All the latest robust features are here to bring quality connectivity and data to the mass public for free. All this contributes towards a solid POB (Proof of Business) service plan, taking the IoT internet industry to a new level. High-level representative such as EDIMAX President and CEO Gene Renn, and Government officials such as Deputy Mayor Chia-ji TENG, Commissioner Hsin-Ke LU and more, all gathered to understand and express their enthusiasm about the Smart City initiative. On the side of the KIOSK, users can find multiple fast charge USB sockets and an additional tablet for users to interact/input with. The EDIMAX wireless MESH system (802.11ax Wireless AP) can effectively cover a range of up to 150 meters and at the same time providing free Wi-Fi connection of up to 200 devices. On top of the KIOSK, you can see the unique EDIMAX full outdoor air quality solution device (AI-3001WE) that can detect the surrounding area and provide PM2.5, humidity and other environmental readings through the large display or through the EdiGreen cloud platform. Secure Multi-Cloud Capability | Creating Value for Business Currently, adverts from the fashion industry, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and other adverts are on display, showing promising results. Location is the other important factor in creating value for businesses. The location of the KIOSKs are within busy areas that most people walk pass or in crowded surroundings, with past stats of 68 million people a year from the Taipei 101 MRT station and additional crowds visiting/shopping from top global boutiques.
