— Clarification Regarding Legacy IC-7100 Camera

Taipei, Taiwan, Mar. 10, 2025 —We are aware of the recent security report regarding CVE-2025-1316, which refers to a potential vulnerability affecting the Edimax IC-7100 network camera.
Edimax Technology takes product security and user data protection very seriously, and we would like to provide the following clarification:

The Edimax IC-7100 is a legacy product that was discontinued over 10 years ago, and its technical support and firmware maintenance were officially terminated. Due to the unavailability of the development environment and source code, we regret to inform that no security patch or firmware update can be provided for this product.

Although this product has reached its End-of-Life (EOL) and is no longer supported, we strongly recommend users who are still using the device to implement the following precautionary measures:

• Avoid exposing the device to the internet; use a firewall or NAT to restrict external access;
• Change the default admin password immediately to enhance login security;
• Regularly monitor the device access logs and check for unusual activity.
