The Edimax WP-S1100 enables easy wireless presentations at home or in the office
Edimax Technology (TSEC: 3047), leading manufacturer of networking and connectivity solutions, introduces a new Wireless Projector Server; the WP-S1100. This convenient server enables users to share a single projector or video device, such as a television or monitor, wirelessly within a network.
The WP-S1100 allows the presentation of files, such as images or movies without having to physically connect a laptop computer to the projector or video device. Users simply need to connect the WP-S1100 to their wired or wireless network to project their computer screen content on to a projector screen. Connected to a gateway or router, the device even enables other users to access the Internet while the presentation is in progress. The WP-S1100 features two different modes; a presentation and a video mode. It supports a full range of video formats including MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV9 and even the latest H.264. Video files that are saved on connected computers can be transmitted over the network and played back on the projector or video screen.
The WP-S1100 is very easy to install and manage through its convenient web interface. The included infrared remote controller enables moderators to easily switch presenters during conferences or presentations. In addition, the device works with any type of projector or video device equipped with a standard VGA or HDMI connection. It also supports the latest 802.11n standard which is ideal for transferring high quality video or other multimedia files because of the high transmission rates it supports. It offers WEP64/128 en WPA/2 encryption to secure the wireless transmission and Dynamic Login Codes (Session Login Code) to block unauthorized users from gaining access to the projector. Besides, the WP-S1100 features a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button to simplify the configuration of the encrypted wireless connection.
