Taiwanese OTC listed company, Edimax Technology Co. Ltd., received approval by a government review committee to be listed onthe Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE). The listing date is expected to be at the end of August. Edimax is the third networking company, dedicated to LAN, WLAN and WAN, to be listed on the TSE after Dlink and Accton.
On July 9, 2002, a government review? committee approved Edimax Technology's application to be transferred to the main board of the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE). This year, the review committee approved a total of 38 OTC (Over the Counter) listed companies request to be listed on the TSE. The listing date is expected to be at the end of August. According to the requlations, OTC listed companies wanting to be listed on the TSE main board must have a minimum capital of NT$600 million and have excellent profitability. Companies with capital of between NT$300 ~ 600 million, must be classified as a " High Technology Company" by the IDB (Industrial Development Bureau).
Edimax Technology has a capital of NT$309 million and was successfully classified as a "High Technology Company" by the IDB. IDB requires companies, classified as a "High Technology Company" to develop technologically advance products with revenues from those products accounting for 50% of the company's total revenue. Edimax successfully met all of IDB's stringent requirements, thus again confirming Edimax's superior RD capability and competence.
